  • Brittany started writing for entertainment news site The Young Folks in 2016.
  • She also works as a staff reporter for The Yale Daily News, where she contributes features, cultural criticism, and personal essays, and as a columnist for The Yale Herald, where she covers pop culture.
  • Her short thriller film, "," premiered at NeueHouse Hollywood in 2019 and has screened at several festivals, including Screamfest, Nightmares (where it won the "Best Recurring Nightmare" award), and FilmQuest (where it was nominated for the "Best Screenplay - Short" award and won the "Best Fantastic Short" award).


Brittany was born and raised in the DMV; she now works and plays in the City of Angels. She started her journalism career as a music reporter for The Young Folks, where she interviewed over 80 musicians and photographed legends such as Paramore, Weezer, and Fetty Wap. Today, you can find her covering her favorite artists at Top Five Records; additionally, she regularly contributes film criticism to Movie Ranker. As a writer of poetry and prose, she has been published by HAD, Dream Boy Book Club, Spectra, and Versification, among other lit mags. She was named a Best of the Net Award finalist in 2022.


Brittany Menjivar graduated from Yale University in 2021. She received a B.A. in English (with a concentration in Nonfiction Writing) and Film & Media Studies (with an emphasis on Screenwriting).
